I know this is like asking what the "best" icecream, "best" oil or "best" religion. I am looking to get a second set of tires for offroad only to put on spare wheels for my lifted and protected WJ. Since these tires will be carried on my hitch hauler to and from the places I am going to offroad, I feel I can make compromises for on road feel. I know that prices vary a great deal, but I want to consider everything.

This is what I have found so far. What do you think? I am leaning toward the Interco tires...

Goodyear

Maxxis
MT754 Buckshot Mudder
MT762 Bighorn Radial Mud Terrain
MT753 Bravo Series Mud Terrain

Cooper
Discoverer STT
Discoverer Radial STT
Discoverer S/T
Discoverer S/T-C

Kumho
834 Roadventure MT

Firestone
Firestone Destination M/T

Bridgestone
Dueler M/T

Hankook
Dynapro MT RT03
Dynamic MT RT01

Yokohama
Geolander M/T+

Interco
SSR Series
TrXus Mud Terrain

I would love these, but they don't come in my size.

What sizes are you looking to run? Some of the tires aren't always true to size. The LTB"S are great tires. They are on my Jeep that I drive everyday, and I don't have any problems with them. They aren't true to size (they run smaller than they say). I recommend the LTB's, but then again I haven't run any other tire so I am not saying it is the best, but they sure suprised me. They got me out of a swamp that was over my fenders.

Sorry I didn't read your topic carefully, but I would recommend the 31X11.50 LTB's. They run a little smaller than 31 inches, much closer to 30.

I was seriously considering the LTBs however, Interco says they should run on an 8" wheel. My stock spare WJ wheels are 7".

I would hate to loose a beed when aired down 'cause I picked too wide of a tire.

That's a good point there. Maybe try the TSL's. They have tires that aren't quite as wide and the tread is very similar to LTB's.

I think out of what you listed above, I'd go with the Cooper Discoverer STT (the new design). To me they look similar to the TOYO Open Country MT's. I've heard good comments about them. I ran the older design several years ago on my CJ and then ran them on a full size Jimmy for several years. I don't remember how many miles I ran on them but it was 30-40K then I sold the Jimmy and them with it. They were a good tire for all around driving.

This is web wheelin' at it's best, but people who've run Boggers on anything but pavement or ice swear be them. The verbal testimonies I've heard is enough to make me consider running them on my daily driver the next time I need rubber. I'll be running 31x12.50-16's on my stock Rubicon.

I would agree. I loved them offroad. It was the on road part in the rain, I wasn't too crazy about. I didn't say anything in my earlier post since it wasn't in his list.

Well, I've decided to try the 31x11.5 16 Interco Super Swamper LTBs. They may rub on full articulation but I can trim for that.

Since they are strictly for offroad, I do not need to compromise for tread life. If I was going to use them on road, I would have went with a Radial...

Now, to find the best deal.

With these tires I suggest buying local because two of the five I got were bad tires, and normally a good place will check the tires before they give them to you, or they will take the return if you find out they are a badly made tire. You'll be happy I've gone through mud where people with 33's had trouble, and wouldn't even attempt.
