I've got a 200R4 out of a buick available to me cheap. I'm looking to replace my AX15 with an auto tranny and have heard many good things about the TH400 and 700R4 working well on 4wd. My question is will a 200R4 handle the beef of 36" swampers, 4.56 gears, and a detroited rear full time? And will the 200R4 have enough gearing to turn the setup powered by a 4.0?

The only way I would ever even consider using a 200/4R (not R4) is if it was one of them out of a SS montie, Hurst olds, or turbo Buick car. They are the strongest of the lot. But even then I doubt you would have any luck with it.

Yeah I believe its out of a Turbo Buick. The only reason I ask is because its available to me for like $150. It's a similar case to a 350, but I'm thinking that coming out of a 2wd vehicle that in 4 wheel it could be stressed. Thanks for the input!
