Been a while. Just cruisin' round and saw a few people I remember from the old days. Things are good...wheelin' is good.

Just thought I'd say hi and post a pic of the rig. Been through alot of changes.

This was shot in Goldendale, Washington. It's in the shop right now getting the bumpers, winch finished up.

Whatever floats your boat, Salem...

I happen to like Toyota's too, but like the topless/doorless feeling of my Jeep a little too much.

I hear ya. I go topless and doorless too. Wink

I had a hard time cutting up a 20k TJ. I've got half that into this with lots of nice goodies and it's much easier to own a tow rig for those Moab trips. Wink

106.5" wheelbase sets you up nice for 37-40" tires too. Under 100" is pretty scary for tires over 35's.

Tell me about it man!! It's where it all began!!

B: I really like the Toyo's. The few things I don't care for:

They aren't true 37's!! They measure 35 3/4" with 22 psi on my rig. My MT/R's hit around 35" or so. Frown

They are quite a bit heavier than MT/R's. WIDE is the word of the day with them.

But, overall they are a better tire. They don't hold a bead as well...so expect to loose them or finally invest in beadlocks (mine will be going on after I finish the bumpers) I never had a issue with the MT/R's on 8" wide rims. I ran 5-6 psi consistantly with that setup.

I went to 10" wide rims for the Toyo's. They are 14.50 wide and every bit of it. I've got a friend that runs the 35's (those are 13.50's) on a 8" rim and they are really crowned out.

They are on par with the MT/R in rocks, better in the mud than the MT/R and the same in snow. One thing I noticed:

The MT/R's can be a really big pain to balance well when you hit the 37-40" range. They just aren't a very round tire. I had one start to go out of round on me (within 2000 miles) and my friend had 3 he had to replace. I internally balance my tires.

The Toyo's are VERY round and hardly take any weight. In fact, my two other friends run the same setup and two of put in weight before we drove on them. The other did not, he's running them on beadlocks, unbalanced and has NO vibes. Wink

All in all, great tire if you handle the weight and width. If they made a TRUE 37" tire that was 13.00 wide, I'd stick with them. When I move up to 40's, I'm gonna try Maxxis Creepy crawlers this next time.
