Ok, been wire wheeling and grinding on the rockers all week. So now everything in the garage has a coating of rust and black powdercoat dust.

It can be cleaned, but I'm hating to see what its going to be like when I bring the M101 trailer in for some much needed TLC.

Anyone have a method of preventing this from happening?

Thanks,
Jason

howdy

drape a giant tarp over you and your project! lol. or it might be the other way around...tarps over your stuff. i think thats one of the major reasons people send stuff out to be sand blasted.

Go to HomeDepot or Lowe's or the like and buy a bunch of plastic. Hopefully you have a window in your garage... tack it to the ceiling creating "walls" where two sections must intersect overlap them by a foot or so don't let them interesct at a corner unless the over lap a foot on each side.. tape the intersections together. except for one for an entrance. if you have a window then allow for it to tape to the window frame and have an opening for the window so you can get some ventilation. you can also use this for a paint booth as well. It takes a bit to set up but it works great for large projects like your M101

Picked up a new shop vac just for that. Thinking the plastic idea might work also for the bigger messier jobs.

every 1/2 hr or so, stop your projecdt, connect your air blower thingie with the handle on it to your compressor and blow out the garage.
or you can do what i do and paint with krayola crayons. be sure to use the wax ones not the water based.... the wax helps you get out of those stuck between a rock and a hard place situations.. you just slide right out.
