I've struggled too long with this printer and tonite it finally gave me my final fit. I decided to let my temper fly. First I pounded it but the screen still worked. So I pounded it again and the front panel came loose. Then I ripped the panel off.

I then unplugged it (no sense in wasting good phone and network cables) and threw it across the room.

I feel so much better now!

I think Office Max opens at 8am. Guess I'll be there.

Oh yeah, that's the new RCBoards server there. Luckily only the panel landed on it

I LOVE MY HP. I CANT THINK OF THE MODEL NUMBER OR ANYTHING RIGHT NOW BUT IT ROCKS. I ACTUALLY DONT USE IT THAT MUCH EXCEPT FOR PRINTIMG OUT RECIEPTS FOR STUFF I BOUGHT ONLINE. HOWEVER, DANIELLE USES THE CRAP OUT OF IT. WEVE BOUGHT THAT PRINTER ABOUT TEN TIMES OVER WITH MONEY SHES MADE SCRAPBOOKING.

Last time I did something like that they caught it on video. Took a sledge hammer to an old HP desktop to put it out of its misery.

Umm... Sorry I don't work on consumer/commodity products. Now if you want some advice on installing a 64/128 Core, 8 partition system with are least 1 TBs of memory running on Linux while processing somewhere around 256GB per second then I'm your man...

Mike...you are truly an inspiration to those of us who have no patience with mechanical/electronic devices. I had enough of my cell phone the other day and proceeded to bounce it of the front door (metal fire resistant door). The Nokia was no match for the door. And I now have a new Motorola V551. Bad part is, Cingular service in my neighborhood is still marginal. Someday my Compaq PC may become an artifical reef. I mean, why not, I live on a lake! Come to think of it, I met Pagan while bashing Compaq's.

The crazy thing -> since I recently got a new laptop you know how it goes -> most of the old sh!t (read: only 3-4 years old) does NOT work anymore with XP. So I had to get a new Palm PDA and a new HP printer to work with the new laptop ... my HP printer/scanner/fax/copier machines both work though

Looks like the one in our office. We use it only for color printing and making copies. I can see how it give you fits, ours does too.

We do get to smash goverment property when it goes past it's usefulness. It's really cool to smash a monitor up. I've done the whole "Office Space" scene with a fax machine too!

I think it was KDKB a radio station in Phoenix that used to hold an annual "Throw Your Equipment of The Roof" party.

They would block off an entire parking lot and take "lucky" winner up to the top of their building (10 or 12 stories) and let them lauch their computer euqipment off the roof. Of course they won new equipment to replace it.. but still the concept was sound. Made for some fun entertainment if you happened to be downtown.

Should have tested the strength of the printer while having say a 35 inch super swamper on top of it. Of course it would have to have a jeep attached to the wheel.

Well the poor printer is still sitting here. Yesterday I killed a failed hard drive. Wanted to at least score the magnet from inside. Too bad my chisel busted the disk and sharp shards went everywhere. Ugh.
