Yeah I know. This is our second time to live in the Republic of Texas and we plan to stay this time. I've gotta get hooked up with some of my old compadre's. I haven't see DtheM on here in quite some time but, maybe I catch up with him and some others?

so you moved to McKinney?
That's where one of my buddies lives and works now. Been up there a couple of times now to go wheeling (Gilmer) with him. One of these days we need to hook up with a couple of RC members and go wheeling in Gilmer, TX or OK or AR Big Grin

Sounds like a plan! I also hope to make down in your neck of the woods as well. Maybe this next spring or summer I'll load the family up and head towards Great Bend and give ya a shout on the way. I'm not sure if theres any wheeling to do there, but I always wanted to go when we lived here a few years ago.

Yeah we're in McKinney for now but we'll probably end up more west like north of Fort Worth. I suppose me getting a job, will be the decideing factor, but we think we'd like to end up over in that area. Although, I could get used to not working.

if you want to come down during Easter weekend, then we're putting together a run at the Longhorn Ranch (private property) with the San Antonio Jeep club. This is just North of Study Butte.
Perfect opportunity to do some wheeling and also visit the Big Bend area Smile

it's a nice area up there (I've got another buddy living in Keller), just far enough away from the crowd, but still close to all amenities Smile

Yeah we'll see what Peter Rabbit brings. The wife and I were talking about trying to make EJS next year before the big move. We haven't talked about it any more since. I know we're planning on the All-4-Fun in CO again next summer. Other than that, the schedule is pretty open.

Keller is one of the towns we're looking into.

Ok....so I'm behind the curve. Welcome back to Texas Dennis! And yeah, we all need to go wheelin' sometime. I'm still out here just east of Denton, trying not to get trampled by urban sprawl. McKinney is about 25 miles from me, and I go right through it on my way to Gilmer. Ron, be sure to e-mail or call next time you're up this way and we'll see what we can stir up.

Hey you are still lurking in the shadows! Whats going on? Long time no talk to. We definately gotta get together and do some wheeling. It's been since August since we did any trail rides. Theres just been so much going on. About the only trip we've got planned in the Jeep is to MS for Thanksgiving. Planning to load my 4wheeler up and take it to my cousins to do a little deer huntin. That is if I get my butt around to wiring up my harness on the Jeep. Have ya ever put a 7 pin harness on a Jeep? I know it sounds overkill for the Jeep but my trailer has brakes and I thought I'd take advantage of them. Plus if I ever get my M416 tralier done, I want to be able to have aux power on it. I think the part I dread most is mounting the plug in my rear bumper. I'll have to drill about a 2" hole through both the bumper and the rear cross member. Anyway... I'll PM ya with my number and maybe we can get together soon. If nothing else, we get a bite to eat and talk Jeeps.

Ya know the funny thing is when we lived here in Texas 2.5yrs ago and where getting ready to move back to MO, I was excited about the move. But after we were there a few months, we were ready to come back to Texas. It took us 2 1/2 years but we finally made it.

I know what ya mean DtheM. That's why we're looking to get a little farther out this time. Who knows maybe after a year or so, we can blend in with the natives. My youngest son is a native so maybe we're not complete transplants. It seems I've heard somewhere that Texas is a state of mind.
