So at my shop one of the tech's has this little old 4 door Suzuki thing that has been sitting for 6 years. It starts, runs, and drives fine but he was about to leave it in a parking lot with the key's in it hoping it would get stolen.

So I after hearing that I got to thinking. Maybe this could be a fun project. A little POS that's free, build a cage in it, put some harness's in it, gut the interior, lift it a little somehow, put some off-road lights on it and call it a rally car! My friends and I are going to put a little money together for materal and build a getto rally car. Something to take out to the desert and do some slides, jump it, crawl my Jeep up it, and just have fun...

Sounds cool. You might want to check out www.scca.org to see if they do any club rally / rally cross events around you. They tend to have a class for anything, including ghetto fab rally cars

As soon as my WRX gets paid for (soon, very soon). My wife will get a RX-8 and I'll have 2 play toys. The WRX will be torn down, stitch welded, caged, and built to either production GT or Group N specs. I'll probably get it skid plated over the winter and hit some rallyx events before then. It might get to see its first road track day on the 19th of Nov.
