Some punks around here broke into my XJ and the YJ. Luckly they were some stupid teenagers by the looks of it. I had my tool box in the back of my XJ and they dident touch, that sucker is FULL of tools. All they took was about 50 burned CD's that are full of scratches, one of my Tool CD's that was brand new, a portable CD player, wire cutters, and my winch controler. As dumb as it seems, about 8ft behind my XJ was the portable CD player and wire cutters just sitting there...along with somebody else work glooves Roll Eyes They can take the burnd CD's for all I care, more then half dont even play sence they are full of scratches. But I really want my winch controler back!!!!! Mad Mad Mad

They had to be some of the idiot teenagers around my neghborhood (Im 18 also but I dont go and mess with other peoples stuff) My wallet was laying on the passenger seat with $10 in it and its still there with the money...but they did take the $1.50 I had in change in the center console Roll Eyes Also my Social Secrity Card was in there, they dident even touch it by the looks of things.

Im just wondering what the heck they want with my winch controler...there is not a single teenage kid around here that I know of that has a winch to use it on..... Roll Eyes

As for the YJ it has no doors or top and is just sitting in my driveway so there is nothing of importance in it, just some old school papers from last year and you can tell they moved them all around.

They left fingerprints on the chrome door handles and shoe prints on my rockerguards...along with a hand print on my door sence the XJ is still dirty from BigBear. Roll Eyes

That sucks, but luckily they didn't get to much by the sound of things.

Getting stuff stolen makes you feel vulnerable though, makes me want to get a big dog to keep in the Jeep! Smile

Count your blessings because you were lucky. My truck was broken into in San Antonio 3 weeks ago in a La Quinta parking lot. They took my tools, my portable thomas air compressor, my wife's camera (boy was she pissed) and my PDA.

My truck was parked under a light 50 ft from the front door with the security camera pointed right at it. Of course, the security camera wasn't working properly. Mad I changed hotels and will never stay at a La Quinta again. Another break-in occurred in the same parking lot the next night.

I really hate punk theives who do this kind of stuff. It really ruins a vacation. Frown

Yeah, I love it when they break into your vehicle and take things they could never use. Your problem sounds like your basic run of the mill punks. I've found too that if they can't get what they want they take other stuff just to piss you off. Of the 4 times my truck's been broken into here in Phoenix (only been here about 7 years), once they just took the face of my stereo with no searching for other goodies. When my mother's ZJ got broken into in the church parking lot (btw my friend's whole truck got stolen from there recently; also during service), all they took was the face, but jacked up the unit and broke and took half the dash with them!?! Then with the YJ, the face was off the stereo, but they tried unsuccessfully to get it anyway, messed up the dash, and finally gave up and just took all the repair receipts and registration stuff out of the dash. I figured out all the times they went to plan B and just broke stuff of took stuff they didn't need was the times I installed the stereo. That's because when I install it, it doesn't come out with the push of a couple side pins. So it would seem in anger that they just want to let you know they've been there and that you should've just let them have the stuff and it would've made the experience so much more pleasant for the both of you.

Remember locks just keep honest people honest Frown

They only seem to go for stereo equipment and cds around here. I have a 100 pack of blank cds if you want me to contribute to the "burned cd" pile that was stolen.

btw i got my cherokee back. expect emails brandon.

Thank goodness I live in Texas.. Isn't there a clause in the law somewhere that says if someone is on your property, in a supicious and/or threatening manner, you can put a cap in their ***? I had to "paintball" a couple of hoodlums one night around 2 am cause they were digging around in my CJ. As they ran off, the shouted "Well be back" and I plainly said.... "C'mon."

Yup, Texas law states that one can use deadly force to protect property at night time.... HOWEVER.... What property is worth a human life, really?

If one thinks their life is in danger, that's another story altogether.

Any idea how hard it would be to do that? Unlike silhouettes, bad guys won't just stand still and let you shoot them where you please.

Believe me, I would have the urge to shoot them as much as the next guy. I'm just trying to be realistic.

Shoot 'em in the leg and I guarantee they sue, better finish the job right.
The other night at a apartment complex I deliver papers to, some shirtless guy came at me from 40 yards away with a baseball bat. He was walking on the other side of the parked cars trying to walk-run up on me. I just kept walking right towards him and then when he got 20 feet away, he stopped and said "Oh, I thought you were someone else." and walked away. I called the cops later and told the dispatch that I wasn't calling for myself but for the next guy. Maybe the guy with the bat would forget to put his contacts in and not realize the difference in features until the next guy was bloody.
But you can be sure I wore my gun next couple of nights!

Sorry to hear that Brandon Frown Seems we've all had it happen Frown Twice when I had my YJ I left a few things in there under $10 they just opened the door (YJ had no door locks, I was lucky that time) April of '03 my TJ was broken into under the street light, seemed like the thief slept in the back seat because the rear cup holder was full of cigarette ashes, broke my glove box took all contents, didn't like what was in my unlocked center console, left it on the passenger seat, took all my CD's and a new laminated map in the side door. Besides having to get a new side window, glove box I had to get my leather steering wheel fixed it got scuffed up. I never thought it would happen on my property that it would be more likely at the Gym or Mall.

I didn't have my jeep broken into but a few weeks ago some punks came into our property & stole 4 new 31in Swamper TSL's. Long story short they didn't steal anything from our shop & didn't break into our customers jeeps. We do have a witness, vehicle discription, & the discription of the two punks that did it. Mad Still no tires but cops are involved.

Hopefully you find the guys that did this. I'm still waiting for my justice. The gun is loaded & now we are waiting.

I forgot to mention I did see prints on the side window that was cut, I called the Police department and they said I could take it in for finger prints but that it was done by volunteers and that most likely nothing would come of it. My insurance paid for the replacement of the side window, new glove box, fixed the leather steering wheel and new wheel locks. The value of the CD's was less than the house insurance deductible so I was out $150 in CD's.

ive been fortunate not to have had and experience like this. ive seen fellas lookin in my jeep like theyre thinkin about it, but never actually been robbed. i think its great though that all of you that have been victimized have the civility to use the police, etc. personally, if someone chose to bypass my right to property, etc, im gonna hurt them very badly. simple as that
