Any body ever been there before?

I've lurked on the forums over there off and on for a few months because I had registered for a user account but never recieved my "confirmation email" so that I could actually begin posting or responding to post. NO biggie.

Well yesterday, I finally emailed requesting my account to be activated so I could post. I have a bunch of stuff in the garage that could be put to better use than as dust collectors so I put this stuff up for sale on this and a couple of other forums (pirate, myjeeprocks, tinbenders, etc...) cause I know alot of people frequent these places.

Well I posted in the MJR forum to email me because I don't check that board very much. NO BIG DEAL right?? I work alot and can't live on every website 24/7 so I figured if somebody wants something (for a killer price at that) they could just as easily email me, RIGHT???
WRONG, I guess. The web admin over there actually edited MY POST and put "or post back to this thread" instead of "because I don't check this board often".
So, I go and RE-EDIT MY POST to say what I originally meant and put in () are moderators supposed to edit other people's post for no good reason,or something to that effect.
After this, the MODERATOR went back in and RERE-EDITED MY POST to say "I WILL CHECK HERE OFTEN". and then posted that if I didn't like it, I can go someplace else.

So is it just me or is it really screwed up when a moderator goes in and changes your words to better suite their liking. Really, that's just rude. I can see if I were swearing or posting dirty pics or whatever but I was simply trying to hook up some fellow Jeepers and they want to get all stupid over their arrogance. I left the board for good and a buddy told me that my thread was locked out and then deleted all together.

Rockcrawler rules.

We have rules.. but we believe they fall along the lines of common sense. Toying with someone's post is ridiculous.

If they didn't like the way you said it or it was "against" some rule they have (Don't post that you won't check here may be considered to be using their site for advertising but not contributing to the community) then they should have deleted it and sent you a note about what rule you violated.

No one can be expected to understand unwritten rules or those that fly so far outside the lines of common sense.

I was kinda put off by it. I'm pretty thick skinned (hanging out on Pirate too much) but that was just stupid.

Too bad, there are alot of fledgling Jeepers over there that could use advice from people like me that have been around the block a couple of times when it comes modifying Jeeps.

Moderation is good, not straight bullying though.
