Saw Korn here in the Springs for the first time last night. What a show! My ears are ringing still, which I can't decide to attribute to the sheer volume or just the sucky sound at the World Arena.

Korn have a great stage presence and their set was fun too - a two storey 'prison cage' of fans at the back of the stage. They threw in covers of 'One', 'Word Up' and 'Another Brick... Pt.2', which followed a great start of 'Here to Stay' and 'Got the Life'.

All in all, a good night - my only upset being that concerts are turning into mini-festivals these days - there were 4 support acts last night, of which I thought 3 were indifferent. Kinda hikes the ticket price, though thankfully still not to Rolling Stones proportions. Hearing new bands are good - perhaps I was just bought into the headliners too much. Four bands is quite a lot to stand through. I was thinking about not getting floor tickets anymore for that type of gig.

On the other hand, perhaps I'm just getting old! Big Grin

I saw them a few years ago at a decent sized festival. July 4th show at Ravens stadium. Powerman 5000, Kid Rock, Korn, and Metallica.

Korn's show that night was just ok. Probably because they were following outstanding shows from powerman and kid rock (that man has a good live act) and standing between me and listening to Metallica.

I too am feeling old. Think I've got a few more ozzfests in me. Not sure how many more pits I have left.

Call me an old geezer...but I don't see how that could beat an Alice Cooper concert back in the 70's. Or Jethro Tull, Yes, BTO, ZZ Top, Heart, George Harrison, Foghat, Head East, Sammy Hagar, and...geeze, it has been a long time! I know there's a few others I forgot. The air in my room looks a little smokey just thinking about those days! Eek

OH MY! I am feeling a little giggly and hungry just reading your post...lol
But you must include Pink Floyd in there! I think that Alice, Yes and Floyd were the concerts that I can remember from back then(what little I remember of it)

I met some members of Korn and Puddle of Mudd at a strip club in St Louis a couple of years ago. That dude Monkey is really cool. I never did get to see them play tho...

The last concert I went to was Blink182... pretty good show, tho not as good as the Takeoff your Pants and Jacket tour.

Have also seen Kid Rock a couple times... That dude puts on a good show!

Never did see Pink Floyd, but I do have Dark Side of the Moon on vinyl! Head East I saw at a small club, and they nearly blew the doors out the place. I'm also willing to bet that the Astrodome in Houston suffered structural damage after Foghat's performance!!! Eek Big Grin Yes had a revolving stage when I saw them. Billy Preston opened for George Harrison. Too cool. Smile

For you County fans, I met Ray Wylie Hubbard back in 1969. I have the first recordings he ever did. You know, the guy that wrote "Up Against the Wall Redneck Mother"!

Sat up front close and personal to Leo Kottke a couple of times now. Remember that Roger Maguin guy from the Birds? He did an acoustic solo performance here this year. Small venue, and you got to visit with him a bit before and after the show. And he did all of his really good tunes mixed in with somenew stuff.

See kiddos, us old guys still go to concerts. Funny how the air is a bit clearer these days!
