Just started this Jeep thing about two years ago and love it. Any feed back on the 33/10.50's. I just plan on using them with the stock rims for long drives on the road and some light wheeling out here in the high desert of Southern CA. I have a set of M/T's on steelies and will swap them out when I go for the fun stuff, just seeing too much wear on the M/T's. Thanks....

Hey new guy!
Yeah, I have ran those tires for two years now and did a summer of offroading every other night. They handle great long as your lift or center of gravity isn't too tall. I have a roof rack and do a lot of highway miles and the only problem I ran into was windy days made the jeep veer off a little bit. But, its a jeep, you always have to be driving to keep it pointed straight.
Oh, I switched to these tires because I ran the 12.5's and the gas mileage was terrible, it made 2 pts difference for me.

Thanks for the info. I have an OME lift and a 1" BL to give me alittle more clearance. At the moment I a running 32 Pro Comp MT's. I plan on changing them out to the BFG M/T's. They are wearing too fast and I'm noticing chunking on the knobs. Thanks, Still the new guy.

That would be a good choice. The BFG MT's are pretty good on wear, I had a set before my a/t's and at least put 40-50,000 miles on them. not to mention a lot of rock on the sidewalls

If you are into a 10.5 for a daily driver, I'd suggest the MT instead of the AT. For the little you give up on the highway, you gain quite a bit off pavement. I ran the MT's in a 33x10.5R15 from Oregon to Death Valley last winter, including a lot of icy highways and rocky trails, and they were awesome tires especially in that size. I just heard a rumor that BFG has discontinued that size, so you might want to act fast. Good luck.

Long ago I ran them, right after moving up from some 32x11.50s (both mud and AT). That was back on a then new CJ, and they worked just fine. I had the same feelings about 33s as the earlier poster. They don't do that much off road, but they cost you a fortune in fuel. I even had a friend that went to the 35x10.50s and liked them.

There is nothing wrong with using the factory rims. They're lighter, and better still they retain the offset which pretty much keeps them tucked under the fender flares. That stops a lot of stone and mud throwing at you and others. The width is just fine.

My only concerns are your turning circles. You may end up rubbing the fender wells, or the lower control arms. You won't know that until you install them. Good luck.

Been running 33x10.5's for years, I think they are the perfect compromise between monster rig and keeping a daily driver. I tried Goodyear, they wore quickly and badly. The BFG's are much longer lasting, and quieter.

Thanks for all the input on the tires. I have two 10.50 A/T's in the garage and will get the other three in a couple of weeks and put them on the stock wheels. That'll make the M/T's last quite some time with swaping them out for the fun stuff.

I got me a set of 31x10.5 BFG A/T's about two months after buying my first Jeep at the Discount Tire there in Chula Vista and then did just about every trail I could between Blythe and San Diego. Never had a tire related problem, ran them at about 12 - 13 pounds on the stock 15x7" rims. I ran all over Anza Borrego, Joshua Tree, Corral Canyon, Salton Sea...I really miss it out there! Before leaving for Washington, we had put about 32k miles on those tires in about 16 months with about 3 or 4/32nds wear, we were in the desert almost every weekend I wasn't out at sea, and still had plenty of tread left when I sold them after the upgrade to 33's. Never cut a sidewall, but they did get some surface damage from rocks...the letters got cut and created a flap of rubber, but not down into the structural part of the sidewall, never lost a bead or had a single leak or puncture. Probably lucky there...
