opinions on how long it takes to change a heater core. need to change mine this weekend but dont have much time. thanks

Sorry, you're not getting a lot of answers. Probably because most TJs haven't had them go out yet.

If you want an answer, call your local jeep dealer and ask them how much it will cost and how long it takes. They normally will give you the answer based on flat rate or their prior experience. Then double the time they give you if you're not experienced.

I'm thinking that the dash will need to be removed from the interior to give you access, ant that in turn will require the air bag to come out (its dangerous.)

ouch. not what i wanted to hear. i replaced one in my 88 gmc jimmy but i didnt have to take out the dash. good call on talkin to the dealership. i try to stay as far away from them as possible but hey when its free help why not. thanks for the help. if anyone else knows about replacing the heater core and knows if you have to take out the dash the help is great. thanks
