It looks like there's an Atlas II 4.3:1 in my near future so I thought it would be a good time to get rid of the banged up stock skid during the install. I'm running a RE 4.5 Super-Flex with no body lift, a SYO, a CV rear drive shaft & an 8.8 rear.

Since I'm trying to avoid using a body/motor lift I'm considering Nth Degree's Tummy Tucker with the 1.25" drop. I'm open to other suggestions & would love to hear from those who've already installed an Atlas II with a new skid & what additional mods were needed to get the rig set up properly.

At the shop we usually install Tera's/Curries flat skid with the Atlas. The combo works well, however the skid has to be angled toward the back to help clear the Atlas. We do this by add two thin washers to the rear bolts of the skid and one washer to the middle bolts. I personaly think you can get away with out the washers if you are willing it take a hammer to the underside of the tube a little more than we do.

As you know the easiest way would be the motor/body lift, and that would open up a variety of skidz that you could choose from. With 35s, you could get away with that with your 4.5 superflex, i did, and my jeep acted fine on off camber situations. If you still shy away from the added lift, Ren's method may be a good way.

Just so I'm understanding you correctly - you're doing this without a motor mount lift or a body lift? If so I have no problem cutting or hammering out the tub.

Oops, sorry...I forgot to mention, this is with a 1" Currie motor mount lift and 1" Currie bodylift. Most of the customers we deal with are really picky and dont like us to hammer out or cut the tub much, thats why were are forced to use the washers as spacers. We end up with about 3/4" of space between the tub and the atlas and about 1/4" of space betwen the skid plate and the atlas.
