It seems that at one time I heard of a different SYE. It is shorter than the standard one you see out there, allowing for an even longer drive shaft. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Where do you get one? Thanks!

I think you're talking about the SYE from JB Conversions. Read the Rockcrawler tech article: Short Done Right!

We're running it on our TJ (see write-up on Jeepin.com). Honestly if you're going to do an SYE on a SWB Jeep, and can afford the extra bones for the SuperShorty kit, GET IT! You'll also need a speedo calibration gadget, which the Rockcrawler article goes over (we haven't done it on our TJ yet).

I'm running it.. of course I wrote the article. Have had no issues with it and like txxj wrote... "if the extra $100 bones donesn't bother you" this is the one to get.

You may or may not need the electronic speedo controller....

Have any of you had problem with the speedo jumping around. Mine is. I heard that meant I needed to tighten my pinion nut. Any comments?

Yup, that's the problem. Go back and reread the Rockcrawler article by Shawn, he mentions that. We ran into the same issue on ours as well, after I'd already posted our review. Just pull the shaft, tighten the nut to the specs, and you should be good to go.
