It would be nice if someone used a temp scanner to
see what the before - and - after temps were.

I found that the biggest contributor to my engine
temp issues with my first 98 TJ - WAS A CRACKED
exhaust header. Once I had that fixed - a BANKS -
my over-heating problems were GONE....

The melted poly engine lift mount was a dead
give away *&^^%$

Here's one guy's study of underhood temps, he did use some decent methodology and equipment.

I bought one. This was a very simple & straight forward install.. Hope to let some heat out of the engine bay on those slow crawling days. But it is another piece to set the Jeep apart from every one else's as well.

Here is the louver with epoxy setting the Cyclone inserts in place.

The hood preped ready for surgery.

The deed is done.

Finished... Makes the Jeep look mean, regardless of missing 2 cyclinders.

Excellent pics, thanks for the step-by-step.

In the finished pic it looks like you've painted the new panel. How did you prep it & what did you use?

My OEM hood flexes quite a bit when opening. Do you see more of less of this now?

I used a 3m pad to scuff the surface. Then wiped it down with thinner. Finished with some flat black bomb can. Wa-la!
