I came across a TJ and want to level it out. I'm thinking I seen somewhere that someone used XJ springs to do this. Am I correct or am I smoking the wrong kind of tobacco? If i am correct what year do I need. Thanks

What do you mean by level it out? Which end is low, and by how much? May be as easy and cheap as some spacers.
My setup is similar and it's a daily driver, but I have 35" BFG muds and Dana 44's front/rear. I know the long arm has a better ride on road, but I'm not convinced it's better off road, seems like it's more tippy then my short arm setup based on my observations. The arm pushing closer to the center of gravity seems to be the cause. To boldly go where we're too stupid to know any better. "Use your hammer, not your mouth, jackass!" The spring issue is interesting. Usually its a weight distribution thing (dump your overweight buddies.) If its really spring sag, you can fix it by moving springs from side to side.
The problem with leveling it with body blocks is that it won't sit level when you're out of it. Or if it does, it won't be level when you're driving. The best answer is to figure out why it leans and fix that. Or you can go with air bags. Dick Burg Remember, if you're not in the lead, the view's always the same. |

Mine came with a slight lean from factory. Took me until approximately my first off-road scratch to stop looking at it and worrying

I geuss I should clarify. It sits about 2" lower in the front than in the rear. I want to level it out. Til I can afford to do the 4" lift. I seen some 1.75" front pucks but that's $50 I can use towards the lift. Whereas with XJ springs I can get them for nothing.

Ah, the "nose-down" posture. That, too is factory, although, I don't think 2" worth is. When I replaced my suspension with OME, it retained a nose down then, too. I don't know what to say about XJ springs, you'll have to hope there are folks left up here who have done this (check the archives, I know this had been discussed in ages past....)
