Has anyone tried tearing there 03 or newer mirrors apart to mount them on winshield/light brackets that are designed for 03 or older mirrors?? I tried buyiny the right bracket for my 03 and I didn't like the look.

I decided to not even mess with moving the mirrors. Instead, I did this: Budget Mirror Install

The 02 and newer mirrors don't come apart like the pre-92 ones. I had the same backets that move the whole thing out in space and thought it looked stupid. I went to a local junkyard and got the mirrors off a wrecked 99 TJ and used the mounts that go with them. Still mounts to the windshield but now doesn't still out all crazy.

Thanks I think I'll probably buy the junk yard mirrors. Both ideas are good. Thanks
