I WAS WANTING TO REMOVE MY REAR FENDER FLARES BECASUE WHEN ARTICULATING THEY RUB BUT I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD PICS OF A JEEP W/O THE REAR FLARES THAT I COULD SEE. THANKS
I googled "TJ rock crawler" images and got several. One of the first ones has them off.
If you are getting the tires to hit the flare you actually are getting the metal to move also - the flare wraps around the inside lip of the metal wheel well so if you are getting the flare to distort alot then the metal is being hit most likely. You would have to limit your travel and /or trim the well. If you pull the flares off the tires will toss rocks and sand up and hit you - at high speeds it can hurt - I've had rocks come in the window - hit the windshield on the inside and hit me in the face. Most of the time I get hit in the arm - when I have it out the window. There is not alot of MUD in AZ so I assume that would also be a problem.
Thank you very much for the help. My TJ when articulating lyk crazy just barely rubs the flares but no metal because of the offset on the wheels i have but hopefully won't touch when i get longer springs.
Getting the right spring hight will be required. If you have the correct setup you should not be hitting any thing. You can reduce impacts with the right size bump stops for your lift also.
