Looking to swap in a TC that is out of a 98 tj auto 6cyl in to my 2000 TJ 6cyl and 5sp.

Anyone know for sure if the spline is the same?

Thanks

The spline count is the same, but the length of the input shaft is different lengths. I can't remember which one is which, but one has a flush input shaft and the other has an extended input shaft.

All jeep 231's are not the same. The 4 cyl has a 21 spline input shaft and the 6 cyl has a 23 spline shaft. The auto and 5 speed both have the same spline count in the 6 cyl but I am unsure of the lengths of the input shafts.

The 5speeds have a slightly longer input shaft (3/8") TeraFlex sells a special seal with a "spacer" added to it that fixes the problem. I have one of those seals sitting in front of me right now, costed me like $15. Spline count on them is the same however.

5spd TJ to Auto TJ = TeraFlex spacer/seal

Auto TJ- 5Sppd TJ = direct swap.
