Anybody know which Chilton's Manual covers a 1999 TJ? It's not obvious to the casual observer by looking at their web site. I have the official Jeep Wrangler Service Manual for 1999 but it is extremely lacking in the troubleshooting department. As I recall, from working on my own cars in the 70's & 80's, Chilton's usually did a fair job of helping you troubleshoot (sometimes), which is what I'm looking for. I'd also be open to hearing about any other pubs (that's publications not taverns) you guys might be using to keep your Monstor Krawlers running.

Regards

I too am looking for a manual, but I am looking for a factory service manual.
I'm looking for a manual for a 2001 TJ, I ordered one from Tenafly Jeep out of NJ three weeks ago, still nothing.
I'm just going to go to my local stealership, if I can pick one up for $125.00 or less I'll be happy.
Chilton manuals would probably be fine but unfortunately they are not available for the 2001 yet....
Good luck Rockcrawler

hey phxtj1, if you're looking to get a FSM go to the jeep website, then to "owners". They have a section that goes to owners manuals and service manuals. It takes you to the "tech authority" webpage. From there you can order any year you want. I just ordered the FSM on CD. It was a little cheaper, plus you can print out the pages you need when you need them, get them all greasy and torn up, then throw them away. I got mine in about 3 days after I ordered it. Hope that helps.
