Well my 4x4 light won't come on. I checked the connector on the transfer case and it looked good. I also jumpered the connector to verify the wiring is good. It lights up when jumpered. Do I just pop a new switch in or could it be something else. I also jacked the front end up and tried to spin the front driveshaft while in 4wheel low. It wouldn't turn. I believe its just indication. Any thoughts?

funny you should ask that. I had that problem with my yj. But the lights for the oil presure and the voltage were also not turning out also. I just changed all the light bulbs in the dash and everything turned on. I not sure if its the same with the tj but it might help

Not sure I understand it right, but lets start out from the beginning. If you're sure the wiring is correct, then its got to be either the switch or the "cam" that it rides on. Its easy to take the switch out if you've got the Tcase on the garage floor.
If you can get a wrench on it, pull it out. What you'll see is that its got a ball bearing on its nose. That rides on a cam that operates the shift forks. You can test the switch just by pushing in the ball. It'll move fairly easy. If the switch operates the light, then the problem is inside and I'd forget all about it. But its probably the switch.
