Can you put an Ax-5 from a YJ IN a TJ? And how hard is the change? I know the output shaft is 1/2 in. longer, and the thowout is different.

If you are putting it in a six that bearing and shaft length with get you. You are
pretty much stuck with the AX-15 for the early model TJs . To machine the shaft and make a new bearing you can score a rebuilt AX-15 - I have seen good ones on Craigs list for as low as 450 . 98/97 TJ, 4.0L, Atlas II 4.3 4.56 & ARBs, RE LA 4.5 Lift,BFG 35 6 pt cage, 5 pt belts, Beard seats, 2 compressors, 2M -6M radio, Winch, BP Bumpers,Sliders,K&N,RS 9000, RE track bars F/R, 24 Gal Tank, D30F/D44R, Steel 15x8 and an F-250 recovery vehicle... |
