Anyone have experience with Gen-Right sliders? The 2 key features they offer are a step plate & a closer fit to the underside of the body. The former is clearly good, the latter is what I'm really interested in feedback about.
Sure, a close fit to the body yields more clearance (& less material means less weight). However, it also exposes more of the body. Opinions? Thanks! BlackJack |

The gen right sliders look nice and seem to fit flush with the floor reinforcements of the tub. I think I would give up the marginal "extra" ground clearance,(after all we are talking about less than 3/8" of an inch of differance), for protecting the foundation of my jeep tub (the supports) Because I drive a 4 cyl weight is also a concern of mine, that is why I like the Poison Spyder Customs Rocker Knockers, they cover/protect the floor supports, and have drain holes which also save on the weight.

Thanks for the feedback, DYBGPN.
I concur with you regarding the trade off between clearance & extra coverage. Maybe others will chime in as well. When you were shopping, did you compare the PSC sliders to ShrockWorks? They seem awfully similar. Maybe I can get one of them to add the step. Thanks again! BlackJack |

PSC sliders are available either with or without the tubular side bar. Many companies offer it with the side bar. But most don't cover all the way the frame like PSC. Shrock works seem to cover all the way to the frame. The difference being that they do not attach to the body mount like PSC do. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. They do look like a beefy unit. and they can be had with the tubular bar/step. I don't see any drain holes on the shrock works sliders in case of water infiltration. (you decide if you want this feature)
I actually was looking at the shrockworks sliders before I decided on PSC because both companies appear to be similar is design options and strength but PSC is priced lower. 97' TJ 4 cyl, 5 Speed, 2" Tough Country Spacers, 33" Wild Country ATs, 15x8 Ultra Wheels, Dana 30 front, Dana 35 rear, 4:11 gears. |

BlKJK if you like the step take a look at PSC's Ricochet Rockers. They are pretty sweet!

DYBGPN:
You've hit some key points. It looks like the SW sliders are about 20% more than the PSC -- I hadn't realized there was that much diff. It doesn't look (from the SW web site) that they tie into the body mounts -- as you say, not sure if that's a plus, minus or n/a. Hadn't thought about drain holes, but I suppose I could install a few of those myself regardless of supplier. Thanks again! BlackJack |
