Ok, I thought I was set on the RE 3.5" superflex kit. I have the M.O.R.E. MML & BL. I have a SYE and rear shaft. I ordered 4.56s front and rear. I think I have all the bases covered. I originally wanted to run 35s, but I think the gas prices are going to change my mind. I know a Jeep is not meant to be, nor will it ever be, a gas mileage beauty, but every little bit helps. With that said, I am looking at 33" MTRs.

Then I saw an article on the Currie 4" kit. I checked out their site and they don't have a recommended tire size. Kinda hard to call from over here in Korea (for the next 4 months) to ask them.

Is anyone running this Currie kit? Who is running the RE 3.5" superflex?

Pros and Cons about both would be great. Trying to make an informed decision so that (hopefully) it only costs me once. (wishful thinking most likely)

Thanks a lot,
Rob

I don't have a Currie lift, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Normally you can use 4" springs to fit 33s, and if you use a 1 inch body lift, 35s. Several people on this board are running their springs and can confirm it.

As for the rest of the kit, I never considered it because the price was the same as an RE long arm (when I was pricing them- don't know now) and twice the price as the RE short arm. People who have the Currie kit seem to like it, but you can get enough flex with a RE short arm to drop the springs, how much more flex do you need?

Now if you are talking about the Currie J-arms, that would be another story. I have heard a lot of good things about them. The only problem is they are not bolt in, you need to weld new control arm mounts.

I have the RE 3.5 Superflex, 1"mm and bl, sye, 4.56 gears, D30 & D44 both with Powertrax no-slip lockers, I have the 4.0 with a 5 speed and am currently running 35x12.50 BFG AT's.
Believe it or not I am getting between 15 & 16 mpg in the city. The 4.56 gears with the 35's to me feels like stock (3.73 with 30's).

I know it's big. It's not my pic, but posted in the other trail ride forums. There was a smaller one there, but I couldn't get it to work on this thread.

One thing that bothered me was my LR tire was off the ground. I think that was the sway bar holding it up. I took off the sway bar yesterday, and I want to test on that rock again to see if the tire stays on the graound. The spring was barely off the saddle, and the shocks had plenty of travel left, so it had to be the sway bar.

dang pete i got as much flex as you did w/a SHORT ARM... even though my front housing moved back about 2 ft.. lol. that shot made me finally conclude that its time for a long arm.. my suspension minus the rear shocks runs great but i just hate how the arms create a pendulum(spelling) and pull the housing back during flex. i saw your springs and they were vertical. mine were slinkied!... $20.00 here 10.00 there 100.00 there.... sooner or later i'll have my lift.. anyone know of a CHEAP site for the RE long arm step up lift? ive got it cheapest so far on www.rockshop.com

yes i will! i have front upper and lowers and rear uppers. dont have the rear lowers. i DO have the older type teraflex lowers. from what im hearing so far, i will have to use my rear uppers w/the LA step up. so for now ill only sell out the complete front end sets. 125.00 for lowers and 125.00 for uppers. if i dont have to use the rear uppers then 125.00 for those also. no time soon though. me brokie!

Put me in line for the front end (top and bottom) - I have some saving up to do, but depending on how fast you get the LA ordered/installed I should have it ready by then. Smile
