I've been doing some reading online as well as checking out my friend's TJ that already has this done and I was wondering what everyone thought.

Seems to me that even with a flip kit and 4:1 gears, I'm getting the same thing as an Atlas II but for about half the price. Does anyone have info about doing this? Good? Bad? Not worth it?

Any input would be great!
Thanks,
Rob

dont have one but i've read up on it to. if you rebuild a dana 300 and do the flip kit and the 4:1 you are getting the same as an atlas indeed for 1/2 the price.. stout and good pricing cant be bad.

That was the way I was looking at it. Here's my price breakdown so far:

D300 - free from a friend
4:1 - $599 from PSC
Flip kit - $559 from DEO
Clocking rim - $130 from Go2guy Engineering

So right now I'm at $1300 before I start rebuilding it. The only thing left is to have the front driveshaft shortened and the rear lengthened.

I'll post pics after I get it rebuilt before I install it. Thanks for the input!!!

I know a guy here in Houston that's done it. Do you want me to put you two together? He has a crazy a$$ crawl ratio. I'm guessing yours is a trailer queen as well?
