I've had a lockright installed in my 85 CJ-7 (AMC 20 with one piece axles) for a couple of months now and it is making me crazy. I know it is normal for it to "click" when turning a corner but this one pops really loudly and shakes the whole Jeep when I start off and turn left. I don't think it has ever done this when turning to the right. I think it's the locker trying to release and ratchet but it's under some torque stress and forceably releases and makes the loud pop. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this problem?

i got the same setup. Mine makes a loud pop every so often. I haven't noticed it everytime. Hell I just thought that was normal but it would be interesting if someone else has an explanation.

This is normal for any of them other than a selectable locker or a spool. With a spool your tires bark whenever turning and the tighter the turn the louder the bark.

Mine does it also, but I like it when it bangs really loud and everyone thinks you broke something.

Have you noticed if it's when you put power to the wheels.

You will get used to it and your driving habbits might change some with it. For the price you can't beat it.
