Question:
Well the time has come for fuel injection. I have 2 complete donor vehicles and am trying to decide which one to strip. 88 Cherokee w/4.0 and an auto, or a 90 S10 w/4.3 and 700r4. This swap will be going into my signature rig which now sports 38" tsl sx's. There is nothing wrong with the 258 other than the carb. I'm getting tired of the headaches. So i'm looking for suggestions Please choose from the following or if yu have a better idea i'm open for suggestions. Thanks

Choices:
4.3, 700r4, 300
4.0,aw4,300
4.3,T18,300
4.0,T18,300

I voted 4.0/T18, but honestly, i think you should use both the 4.0 and the 4.2 components and build a stroker. You got all the parts you need right there. Rockcrawler

i agree with CJim7 4.0+4.2= stroker.... it will use stock 258 motor mounts and there is plenty of aticle and people out there to help... as with trans if you go T-18 get a high holding clutch...and if you go auto i would aget a manual valaing so you can shift your trans...thats my opinion...

Stroke the 4.0, put the AW4 behind it (or the 700R4 if you don't mind paying through the nose for the adapters) and bolt up the D300.

Only downfall with this option is I don't have it. All the other potions I currently have and don't want to spend any more $$.
