I figured most of you guys would be a little more sympathetic to my situation. I have a 90 YJ with a slightly built 258. I'm runnin 33s on D30 and D35 with lock right lockers. Its daily driven and i'm thinking about gears, maybe 4.56s or 4.58s, what do you think?

You didn't supply enough info. Do you have an Auto, 4, or 5sp? Are you planning on keeping 33's? or going larger?

I'll take a bash assuming 5sp and staying 33's. I wouldn't go with 4.88's unless you plan to go with 38's. If most of your driving is highway and you want fuel milage you'll want 4.10's. If you want to smoke the tires and be able to run I-68 in 5th gear.then you'll want 4.56's. Check here for more info. then click calculators

I have the AX-15 5 speed, would like to go with like 35s, and anything bigger probably swap axles, but im trying to get some decent gas mileage and performance for now.

I run 4.56 gears in my 7 on 35" SSR's and do great. I can run 65 just fine any thing more and it's winning however with your 5sp you'd do great with 4.56's.

if you are interested i have a set of 4,56 gears that i just took out of my dad's cj5. the rear was an amc20 and the front a dana 30. they have no more than 500 miles on them. if you are interested? My dad wanted to go to a taller gear for every day driving with his 350 crate motor in a little cj5. willing to make a good deal.
