Don't know if a-framing the rear shocks will help you or not. It depends on what you want and how high quality your shocks are. I use cheap Monroe shocks, l3.5" travel truck shocks, I didn't want too much dampening and end up with a stiff ride so I a-framed and ended up with a nice soft flexy ride. Generally speaking, with cheap shocks the further away from 90 degrees you get the less they dampen, so I experimented and like what I ended up with.

With a 2" stretch it's doubtful that your stock shafts will work, they may fit into place, but they may pull apart when ya get flexed out. Whether or not 37's or 38's will be big enough is something only you can answer, what kind of wheelin do ya do, what kind of wheelin do ya want to do, how much stability do ya want, the list goes on and on. IMHO, that's alot of tire for a 85" wheelbase(83" stock 5 + 2" stretch), personally, I would stretch out to the 93"+ range. HTH.
