a friend of mine went with the pro comp 4 inch lift. I noticed his springs flexed really well. I know he didn't have to do anything with his cross member but he did have to a "cardin" joint to his rear driveshaft. he was able to run 33's with no problem but with the added TJ flares he didn't rub at all.

I run a 4" pro comp with about a 1.5 custom body lift with 35x12.50 BFGs. I have a stock rear driveshaft. I don't like how my pro comp lift rides on the road very stiff. It has loosened up over a few years but still rides like a $200 suspension lift.
I want to run a rubicon express 4.5 extreme duty kit. It's expensive but I have never heard anyone complain about the springs on or off road and it has got everything you need.(extended brake lines, shackles, pitman arm, shocks, leaves, etc..) BDS is supposed to be a good lift for the price. My tires rub when I get it in a bind but that is also because my stock bump stops are laying in a creek somewhere. I got to get them fancy poly ones. |

I'm running 4 in BDS springs on my 85 and am very pleased with them so far. The price was right at just under $400. I don't have any drive line problems or clearance problems from the 33s. One thing for sure, get some sway bar disconnects to increase your Jeep's ability to flex.

I had a 4in procomp and run 35" ssr's with minimal rubbing but the flex was awesome. It is suggested to install a transfercase lowering kit. Don't waste the $$ you can build it a lot cheaper all you need is a drill w/bit a tape measure and a piece of 1x2 steel tube. you will need to drop the skid plate 1 in. down by placeing the tube between the frame and skid plate. I paid like $75 for it and after I saw it I had a fit I could have built it for less than $20 and that includes a new drill bit and bolts as they will need to be an inch longer. Good luck

if you go SOA with that you can fit just about anything you want <42's. cause ive dont quite a bit of research and with fender trimming 42's will fit. but most people dont want to go that high, just crazy's like me.
