I really want to swap the axles on my 54 CJ3B with something alot stronger like 3/4 ton axles out of a chevy truck
is this possible ???? has anyone ever did this?? I keep seeing scout axles swaps but I cannot find any and they are only dana 44`s and I think that dana 60 would be alot stronger considering I want to run 38+ tires if anyone has done this please email me to help me out with this build I am running a 350/sm420/dana20 willys54@sympatico.ca Thanks Rob |

Boy are you in luck. Yes it can be done. My buddy just put 60's under his 46 and is runnin g 42" Swampers.
How wide are you planning on going? I'm running 38's on Dana 44's but only have a 258. It's all in your use of the stupid pedal. 86' CJ7, 258,T18,D44's 4.56 f/r, Detroit front, Warn shafts, CTM joints, rear spool, 4wheel disc, SOA w/ wagoneer springs, custom shackle reversal, 38"tsl, Allied Beadlocks,8274-50 Warn, Custom 6 point cage, custom bumpers, and still building. |
