I am working a frame up build of a CJ7 which will be converted to SOA.

I want to put a shackle reversal on at the same time. I have looked into rubicon express and MORE but haven't found anything that is made directly for the CJ7 without spending beaucoup $$$ to piece something together i.e. not a kit setup for this application.

Has anyone done this mod for a CJ7? If so, what did you do and how did it work for you?

Yep! been there, done that, What axles are you going to use? I used a 73 chev dana44 narrowed to Scout width as I used a Scout dana44 rear.
The chev axle was easy as it comes with SOA.I had to outboard the front springs. M.O.R.E. and Poison Spyder both offer a kit PS calls it CJ fullsize axle kit? or something like that. go luck and if you have anymore questions just ask.

86' CJ7, 258,T18,D44's 4.56 f/r, Detroit front, Warn shafts, CTM joints, rear spool, 4wheel disc, SOA w/ wagoneer springs, custom shackle reversal, 38"tsl, Allied Beadlocks,8274-50 Warn, Custom 6 point cage, custom bumpers, and still building.

I think I am finally ok with my axle decision..going to stay with stock but upgrade axle shafts (later on down the line) D30 and A20.

Found some good insight on homemade shackle reversal here:

SOA with shackle reversal

I like how this looks though I think it will bring the front axle back and inch more than the MORE kit will.

Still debating about whether to buy kit or not...shackle will go thru frame and I will have to make/buy slightly extended shackles to balance out the height.

With a shackle reversal you want the axle moved forward not back. If you move it back you will rub severely. I moved mine 3in forward and because my springs are week I rub the fender pretty bad.
