Need help for a friend. He's in TX, so I can't look at his setup, but he needs to remove the front axle shafts to install his Lockright. Here's the pertinent info:

vehicle: '72 CJ-5
axle: Dana 30 w/ selectable hubs
brakes: drum

It's obviously WAY different than my TJ. Where can we find procedures for the axle shaft removal?

I would recommend he get a repair book from auto zone, like chiltons. I've never worked on a front end with drums, so I couldn't give you directions. sorry man

Oh what a chance to change over to disc brakes on the front. I'm not sure on the brakes but he will need to remove the brakes with the backing plate and remove the spindle to pull the shafts out. this can be very interesting if the front end has not been disassembled for a while.as 360 said it's best to get both a chilton's and a haynes book I have found both of them to be of great value. And if he wants to change over to Disc's let me know I think I might have everything he needs for a reasonable price.
