I'm starting to get over the fact that the KJ "replaced" the XJ. No hard feelings anymore. The Liberty is actually starting to grow on me now. But I can't seem to get over the IFS issue.

Please give me some feedback as to what you like and perhaps more importantly what you dislike.

Basically, why should I not just buy a used WJ?

Thanks,
Richard

The WJ can be a better off-road machine for less modification cost, but you are comparing two vehicles with a huge price difference when new. Would you rather have new-car warranty or a used vehicle that is easier to modify.

My Liberty was mainly a street vehicle, but when my TJ rolled it sure was nice to be able to come home, grab the Liberty, and drive right back up a moderately difficult trail to get my stuff. Nothing crazy, but some good holes and ruts that would lift a tire and the Liberty always pulled through no problem.

It really depends on what you want and how much you want to modify it. I personally consider all uni-frame Jeeps to be great for mild wheeling but a poor choice for hard-core stuff. I wheel a 91 XJ, but that's simply because they are cheap enough now to consider the body and frame to be disposable. If I tear it up or flop it I just buy another high-milage XJ for $500 and move all my parts over.
