Anybody know offhand what the safe wading depth for an 05 Liberty is?

I searched the jeep site and couldn't find anything difinitive.

A pretty good rule of thumb is no more than headlight deep. Jeep tends to put the intake tube for the air cleaner box at that level. Easy way is to pop the hood and see. Also, in deep water crossings, a good steady forward speed will create a bow wave that will help reduce water getting too far up in the engine compartment.

Dennis,

Thanks for the reply, That's pretty much what I figured.

Manager at the dealership said 3 feet, the manual says no more than 20 inches. I've heard some say no more than a foot.
