i am about to purchase a 1980 gmc suburban. it has a 5.7l and 4x4...it has 6 lugs, i cant figure out what axles are under it. i will be selling the body/interior/glass/etc, later e-mail me also if interested my e-mail is cheapjeep5823@aol.com

I beleive stock burbs from that year came with a corporate 10 bolt in the front and a 12 bolt rear. An easy way to tell is to count the number of bolts on the diff cover, thats your axle.

THe best way to find out is to count the bolts on the cover:
