It runs on electric. I wanted it to be quiet so I could run it around home. It is pretty good in the snow. It's a model of the machines they use to groom snow trails. They pull a trailer to groom and/or have a snow plow on front.

loulou, as it is now it has an 'Electronic Speed Control" A mechanical speed control came with the kit, but I did not install it. I've had bad luck with MSC in the past on other RC's. Steering is very interesting. There is a disk brake on each track. They are connected to a steering servo. If you turn the steering control, it applies the brake to one brake only. You could be moving at full speed, turn the steering full in one direction and it will turn 90* at full speed.

When I have to buy my WAR-TANK of RADIO-SHACK, I made it function before dismantling it. It was very funny, but it did not have proportional the trottle. These machine are pleasant to lead in snow or mud and on grounds very broken.
Let us hope that our forum (the only) for TOY + MODS = BETTER TOY .. will always ((living ))

ksully, US price is around $250. You could probably do better if you shop around. Mine came 80% assembled. I only needed batteries, controller, and crystals. The body is unpainted so you also need paint. Only thing I changed on it was put in an electronic speed control. To run them in the snow you should also water proof them.
