Can someone explain "droop" suspension to me - I have read about it and looked at a couple of pics.. but I just don't get it ( thick as a brick I guess ).......
anyone want to have a go at expaining this one or fire up some pics or both
o.k. I think that I have figured this out ( definition wise ), but how do you implement it on a non NB type of vehicle where the shocks are so much different..
ok, its as easy as compression/uptravel (spring) and extension/downtravel (droop), so you would need shocks that fully compressed they make the vehicle at ride height, so you would need fully compressed springless shocks as long as the newbrights ride height compression shocks, then it can only downtravel, but a good thing to do would be to limit axle droop in the middle so you dont lose too much wheelbase!~
for the newbright chassis, full droop wouldnt be helpful, i found a mix was the best! about 30% droop (30% of the shock rod was poking through the top shock mount and could droop down, and the rest was in the springs and could compress)
with the wheely king, you would need to really extend the links to make a droop, as your setup is really meant for the compression, that or a new chassis or get some super long savage shocks or something... the whole compression vs. droop is a funny thing, the best would be a 50 50 split in my opinion, im working on that right now, i have some more inner springs to add to the clod... a 1/3 of a spring on top of the shock rod to keep it down a bit, and 2/3 of a spring underneath to keep the rod tucked in, il tell you how it goes later! my 3200 mah batteries and smart charger was shipped today! im really looking forward to the moped as it has a higher bec than my novak 610, i just hope the 7.2 volt has enough punch torque :/ ... if not i will get a receiver pack and find some TEN cell battery packs and 75t lathes muaaaaah... next best thing to brushless! but how i drive brushless would ruin every gear and every component i got!
thanks.. you're gonna love them extra mAh's - I notice a "huge" difference between my 1500 and my 3200 when it comes down to just "powering" out of a situation ( both 7.2 ) - should get even better with a little "gear" tuning
I'd get an even bigger ( mAh ) battery if my LHS stocked them.
I put it over the air vent on the floor when I charge them cause they dooooo get HOT !
