3rd build using axles from truck, front wheel drive gearbox from the 350z and NB LR3 body. I have several pics of the build but this is the 3rd time I'm trying to post them in this section(don't allow as large a file size as the NB section) not sure how they'll show up.
Once again thanks to everyone at the NB section, since finding you guys I have strayed away from the hobby grade to find great joy in building from cheaper rc's. Thanks for the inspirations. Cheers
2nd pic -tied the axles down and built off the wheelbase (not much for measuring when in creation mode) -motor and tranny mounted to chassis -hacksawed the shock towers off the evader chassis
-chassis mock up, aluminum -rear motor removed from axle, made aluminum cover slash top link mount -cut stock steering box off of front axle and made aluminun servo plate -used hangers again for lower links, tattoo needle bars for uppers and steering
-the stock shocks are similar to the NB but only have about a 1/2 of compression, I couldn't get them apart so I cut the top spring mount down while assembled, was very barbaric, also cut coils -loulou sent some spare driveshafts along (thanks again) I put them in the vice, popped off the dogbones and shortened the shafts. I then pinced the shaft ends in the vice and pressed the dogbones back on. -had to trim the drivecups on the 350z tranny to allow the larger dogbones to fit
-chassis pretty much complete -need to switch rear axle to low gear, the front axle is the same ratio -I have run it with a single and 2 7.2 in parallel and it is quite quick but the 350z motor is not meant for a whole lot of torgue -much lower ride height than the NB but should be a wicked trail rig with a possible lathe motor and transmision ( I havn't looked into this yet). -running a tazer 15 turn with a Hitec 70/30 split, I am not a fan of the 70/30 split on this setup but I need to pick up an extra controller with a 50/50 split.
Im the uk and got 1/6 scale LR3 i went racing through some puddles and well kill it.Its the two 19.2 volt type. There was smoking from middle shock area of the jeep at front . Im a helicopter man so totaly new to RC cars ( well repairing them !) I broke the screw on the steering which i have fixed with some elastic but it did work. Im thinking at least the steering servo has gone. It swerves one way when I turn it on making a clicking noise - so there is power. No power to the wheels though. I was thinking of investing in a nitro car when i get the cash but know its hard to get bits in the uk for a new bright. The batteries take about 6 hours to charge and know there is an hour charger which I have seen on ebay 9allthough this is from the us and i know you guys run on 140 volt . Is it worth fixing? You seem to know your stuff . The whole car seems very flimsy I paid £100 last Decemeber so had my money out of it. A may even fix and sell on any advice? Upgrading from stock seems like a good idea from reading your forum and even from heli experience I know the differnce servos and gyros can transform a model just want to know what you think. I do like the speed of niros the cheapest i have heard of is about £260. Any advice ?

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....
