I just finished putting four wheel steering on my WK. A few months ago I bought the Traxxas TQ3 radio because I knew that with a little ingenuity, it can be used to add 4WS to your crawler. I tracked down a on-off-on momentary rocker switch small enough to fit into the transmitter handle where the existing 3rd channel switch is found. It took a little bit of filing but it was no big deal. Here is a picture of the switch in place - I need to find some matching paint to cover the plastic epoxy. It looks better in real life - the camera flash does not do the work justice.

I already had a spare servo mount that I made a few months back, so all I had to do was mount the servo and make some new steering linkages.

The whole operation only took a few hours and I'm pleased with it so far.

The switch is easy to manipulate with your left thumb. With the rocker switch, the rear steering is either centre or full left/right. The switch automatically returns to centre upon release (a nice feature I really like). Its late and I've only driven it around the living room but initial impressions are quite good. I am running another TowerPro MG945 servo with about 208 in/oz of torque (same as the front) so power is not an issue. My Moped's BEC appears to have no problem running the two servos.

My plastic servo horns bend quite a bit under the strain but I have two new aluminum ones on the way. My Junfac beadlocks are sitting here waiting for my new Losi Rock Claws. I also ordered a set of red aluminum beadlock rings just to jazz up my new black wheels.

Cheers,
Sean
