The stock stampede motor is a 12 turn? Does a 27 turn melt down the speed control?

12 turn titan is a 550 motor. for a 540 motor the ecs is rated 15 to 27 turns.
Old stinger motor like I have in my rustler is a 20 turn.

I would say no, now these days an age with crazy
long run times of a high mah with motors/batteries/speed control etc. You should watch the heat.

In racing rules ROAR/ARCOR a 27 turn is a stock motor. Lower the turn hotter the motor. 19T for Instance would be a modified.

A speed control is not going to help you do wheelies. What is this stuff going in?

I don't think it will do wheelies with that motor.
You could upset the weight transfer buy putting weight in the back to bring the front end up. you
could possibly try to stiffing the front shocks, to do slap wheelies.

If thats what your looking for just to do wheelies.

To do a slap wheelie you set back up soft front hard, so when the front hits the ground, it bounces up right when she bounces up you mash the throttle.

You might be able to do it, if the front shocks are stiff and plug/ tape off the holes in the front rims so the air in the front tires can not escape making them bounce like a basketball.
If you have the stock clips to clip into the top of the springs.. Doing slap wheelies should not be to hard to do when you get the hang of it.

here is a few good vids of how monster truck do slap wheelies.

If you watch monster truck freestyle. Escalade
has his suspension setup for slap wheelies

Is that a motor you bought or trying out from someone?

This is the setup most go with for a pede for an all around nice setup.

Team Orion Formula SV2 Pro BB 17x2 with 15/86 to 14/87 gearing..

Thats the setup I would of recommended.

This site might be of interest to you if you do not already visit there.

To be honest, I would not run a 10turn 540 in a pede. It would be hard to gear right and not kill gears or the motor. XL5 Esc is not going to last behind that motor IMO.

With a 540 burshed motor, rule of thumb with the pede because of tires size and trans gearing you need to run 2 or three teeth lower on the pinion then motor turns. Or there will be to much heat in the motor.

That would be at least a 8 tooth Pinion.
Spur would need to be bigger and the size you need would not fit. Even if it did fit, now you have less teeth in contact so you take the chance on stripping gears.

Now in helis we can get away with it since we do not have to much force working against the gears. If a heli with a 8 tooth pinion had a blade strike and the blade did not snap off fast. It will eat the gears up fast. Been there done that Mad

If by some chance you did get the gears and motor to last, it would fry the XL5 esc.

Some people have be able to get away with running a 13turn on the XL5 but I would not do it.

The link above should help you out allot with your pede.
