Pebble Hopper Rockcrawler |
Seems to me that there was a link someone put up here for a small utility trailer you could buy online for around $250. Ring any bells? Please repost, as the other threads were lost. Thanks!

$250 sounds like something out of http://www.northerntool.com . Most of the production "Jeep" trailers run about $4k+.

You can still find the utility trailers in local papers from time to time at very reasonable prices. Condition varies all over the place. A guy that comes to our local swap meets usually bring one or two.
Most of the WWII models have passed into the great beyond. They did make a thing called a "BRT" that was very similar. It had a tailgate and the purely military ones don't. Most people end up doing a lot of modifications on them. They were mostly 5 x 5.5 bolt pattern and came with a tow ring. Thats good if you happen to have a pintle hook on your tow vehicle, but its noisy because it bashes everytime you start or stop. Most people replace that with a conventional trailer hitch. The guy that brings them to swap meets has some Canadian models, too. He says.... that it will take at YJ/TJ/etc bolt pattern wheel. Those may also include S10 and variants. That can be a big advantage if you can use the same spare. Dick Burg Remember, if you're not in the lead, the view's always the same. |

I don't know if its just the pintle I'm using or what, but I don't get any bash when starting and stopping. I do get one hell of a pop when making really sharp turns with it though.
Stock bolt pattern on the Canadian trailers (M101) is 5 on 112mm where the Jeep is 5 on 114 mm. They might fit, but the trailers are a bolt very bolt centric wheel, just not sure if it would align right. i spent a small fortune on a tentrax. from my personal opinion it is great size and ability. though i am a little dissapointed with the owner that really over praises it. it is a great place to sleep up off the ground, gives us lots of storage for every piece of camping gear to keep the wife happy to include a pett toilet and keep the back of our jeep empty so we can take the dogs. but seriously if you are going to get a trailer for real off-road use it 4k is just to get your foot in the door with no extras. if there is a budget to stick by i would recommend the old bantam/ m100/ or m416 trailers if you can find one in good condition.
