I've noticed quite often when I log on that there's many folks lurking, and lately there's not much posting. For example, right now there's 15 online, but only 5 registered. Perhaps requiring people to log in before allowing to search like many other boards will increase usage, and hopefully the folks will start to post and increase the knowledge base. Kinda like the old free milk, why buy the cow adage.

This is true, I lurked for about 6 months before I signed on as a member of RC. But the reason why I signed on is because it was the most helpful board and I could see what was going on where as other boards require membership for looking no matter what. Maybe you should be slightly limited to what you can see and it will add more members, or people will be frustrated with what they cant see and just leave (I wouldn't see why they would, but some people do it)

Yeah, I lurked for a while also, but since this was the primary source for my research, I joined, and I'm happy to stay and answer the same questions I had just a couple years ago. Just seems lately that not many others feel that way. I like the no BS, non-flaming, friendly atmosphere, and I think others will also if they have to join to participate. There's a ton of info here, a decent search function, and a easy format to follow.

Well it also dies down a bit during the winter. Another thing is some of us dont want to ask the same questions twice and waste bandwidth (or am I the only one?). Usually the bulk of my offroading is during the summer since I come home to texas and I dont have school to worry about as much so thats when I have the most info and participation during that time frame.

I've been a member for several years and often "lurk" here. I don't post much anymore because there isn't anything to post about or on. There was quite a bit of life here a few years back, but it seems to be gone now.

I do still have my RC.com windshield banner on my TJ though.
