We will be running, rain or shine and as late into the night as needed. There will be NO lunch break. Pack it or make arrangements to have it catered to you. This competition is designed to be hard, but not to roll or destroy your rigs, but then a lot also depends on the driver. There will be NO mud events, but if Mother Nature decides we need rain these days, you will have muddy rocks!!!!! All the courses will be timed events and there will be a time limit on each event that will be announced at the start line. You will run 4-5 courses to determine who will be running in the finals. Points are accumulative, you will not return to 0 in the finals. There will be 2-4 courses in the finals to determine the winners. Penalties The courses are timed events. You will loose time for penalties. There will be a 30 second penalty for hitting cones or tape with any part Of your rig. If the spotter or a winch cable hits either of these, there is No penalty. Running out of a course will be an automatic DQ for that course. Use of rear steering will cost you a full, 1 minute penalty, but only 1 penalty for use on each course. Any help by other competitors or spectators while being timed on a course Is an automatic DQ for the course. Breakdowns When your time starts on a course, you have until time to fix any repairs while still on a course. You will not be able to re-run a course. If a repair is not possible, you will be towed to the side for the next competitor to run. At this point, you have until the last person runs the next course to get back in line. Once a course is closed after the last competitor in your class, it's closed for good. Courses will not be held open. Safety Equipment Fire extinguishers must be fully charged and mounted in an accessible location for easy removal. Duct tape or tie wrap mounting is not acceptable. Seat belts must be available and worn by both driver and spotter. 4-point harnesses are recommended, but not required. Helmet must be worn by both driver and spotter while on a timed course. General Info. Since the events are timed, you are allowed to use your winch(with tree savers and something over the cable), jacks, wood, rocks or spotter straps to assist your progress, but any wood, rocks or anything else found naturally on the trail that is used must stay where it is put on the course. Drivers and spotters are not allowed to cross the start line for any reason before time starts on a course. Discrepancies will be settled by a vote of 3 other drivers. Burden of proof is the responsibility of the team. As some of you know, there is a gray area in the rules, so the course marshals will have the final call. There is to be NO arguing with the course marshals. Once again, welcome to Byrd's Adventure Center. Have a great time and Good Wheelin'!!! |
