Rules of Championship

Welcome to the 1st annual Arkansas State Rockcrawling Championship
Presented by Byrd's Adventure Center.

This event is expected to bring some of the best drivers and rigs in the
country to Cass, Ar. in the beautiful Ozark Mountains.

This event is alcohol free for both competitors and spectators and will be
strictly enforced. There will be no bands or other entertainment other
than the event itself. This is a serious competition with serious money and
prizes at stake.

Anybody wishing to bring an off-road rig that's not in the competition is
welcome to at a cost of $50 for each rig. There will be no trail rides or
other events for non-competitors. ATVs will not be allowed into this
event!!!

Spectator passes are $10 per day or $20 for 3 days.

When competitor entry is confirmed, you will be assigned a campsite w/
electric for 4 people (driver, spotter and 2 crew). Anybody else you want
to have at your campsite will be charged $8 per night per person plus the
cost of spectator passes.
Camping will also be available for spectators at their own sites on a first
come basis.

Check-in for competitors will begin on Thursday, September 15th at 9:00 am
through 6:00 pm. CST. This is when your rig will be inspected and you will
be given your campsite and passes for the events.

Please try to get here as early as possible as we are expecting 150 rigs
between these hours and you cannot draw for position Thursday night if you
have not been inspected. There are NO exceptions and remember - NO
REFUNDS!!!

You are welcome to come earlier in the week. Campsites will be available
for $8 per person per night until Thursday.

Pre-running courses is absolutely forbidden and is reason for automatic DQ.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

There will be a mandatory competitor meeting on Thursday night at 7:00 pm.
At this time you will draw for position, we will go over rules and any
additional prizes will be announced. This is why camping starts Thurs.
night.

The actual competition will begin on Friday, Sept. 16 at 8:00 am CST. This
is a 3-day event, but you will only compete 1 or 2 days.

On day 1(Fri. 16th), rigs # 1-50 in the big tire class and #1-25 in the
small tire class will be competing. On day 2(Sat. 17th), rigs #51-100 in
the big tire class and #26-50 in the small tire class will run. On day
3(Sun. 18th), the top 10 big tire rigs and the top 5 small tire rigs will
run.

You will need to be at the entrance of Byrd's at 7:45am on the days you
Will be running. We will all go together to the courses. We will be running, rain or shine and as late into the night as needed. There will be NO lunch break. Pack it or make arrangements to have it catered to you.

This competition is designed to be hard, but not to roll or destroy your
rigs, but then a lot also depends on the driver. There will be NO mud
events, but if Mother Nature decides we need rain these days, you will have
muddy rocks!!!!!

All the courses will be timed events and there will be a time limit on each
event that will be announced at the start line. You will run 4-5 courses
to determine who will be running in the finals. Points are accumulative, you will not return to 0 in the finals. There will be 2-4 courses in the
finals to determine the winners.

Penalties

The courses are timed events. You will loose time for penalties.

There will be a 30 second penalty for hitting cones or tape with any part
Of your rig. If the spotter or a winch cable hits either of these, there is
No penalty.
Running out of a course will be an automatic DQ for that course.

Use of rear steering will cost you a full, 1 minute penalty, but only 1
penalty for use on each course.

Any help by other competitors or spectators while being timed on a course
Is an automatic DQ for the course.

Breakdowns

When your time starts on a course, you have until time to fix any repairs
while still on a course. You will not be able to re-run a course. If a
repair is not possible, you will be towed to the side for the next
competitor to run. At this point, you have until the last person runs the
next course to get back in line. Once a course is closed after the last
competitor in your class, it's closed for good. Courses will not be held
open.

Safety Equipment

Fire extinguishers must be fully charged and mounted in an accessible
location for easy removal. Duct tape or tie wrap mounting is not
acceptable.

Seat belts must be available and worn by both driver and spotter. 4-point
harnesses are recommended, but not required.

Helmet must be worn by both driver and spotter while on a timed course.

General Info.

Since the events are timed, you are allowed to use your winch(with tree
savers and something over the cable), jacks, wood, rocks or spotter straps
to assist your progress, but any wood, rocks or anything else found
naturally on the trail that is used must stay where it is put on the
course.

Drivers and spotters are not allowed to cross the start line for any reason
before time starts on a course.

Discrepancies will be settled by a vote of 3 other drivers.

Burden of proof is the responsibility of the team.

As some of you know, there is a gray area in the rules, so the course
marshals will have the final call.

There is to be NO arguing with the course marshals.

Once again, welcome to Byrd's Adventure Center.
Have a great time and Good Wheelin'!!!
