I just got done setting up a Detroit Locker in a corp. 8.25; went really well except for one thing. This is a “C” clip differential, and the Detroit Locker does not have the “recess” for the “C” clips cut the correct size. So the clips had to be cut down 70 thousands of an inch so they would fit. This was not really a big deal, but it made the job take about an hour longer than planed.
There was nothing in the directions about this so it came as a surprise, this is really not like Detroit to do this, (I have been using “Detroit Locker” since 1967) but I have seen a lack of Quality Control since they became Tractech.
Anyway was just wondering if anyone else had this problem, and wanted to give everyone a “heads up”.
If you are going to put in a locker you may want to buy a pair of clips and cut them down ahead of time, 70 thousands of an inch will do it just fine.

I don't know anything about an 8.25 but did they make a non c clip model? Have you brought this to the attention of Tractech? Not trying to be an a$$ but just curious.

As far as I know all the 8.25's are "C" clips.
The problem I have seen with Trackteck is there is no way to get in touch with anyone who has the authority to help or change any kind of policy (let alone a change in design).
SmileDon't get me wrong I still buy their products; as I think they are the best you can get for the $$$ you spend Smile
