89 cherokee The problem is the small wire on the alt is hot all the time. I have been checking it by a test light between the neg cable and the neg post on the bat. The light glows slightly but when disconnected the light is out. I have pulled every fuse, connector, relay with no luck. battery checks good and alt charges when little wire is hooked up. Any help wil be great! Thanks

The ecm and gauge wire was switched, rewired them corectly and it works fine now.
