NO - for several reasons - the 1990 has a small pilot hole and
bearing in the main shaft stub that is too small for a larger transmission for a post 92 inline six. The tail shaft might be different resulting in the wrong clocking of the transfer case. Your problem if you have a 89-91 six is the pilot hole is too small for the larger bearing and race so you have to machine the hole for the larger shaft on later transissions... Which means the main has to come out and go to the machine shop. If you had a larger - later six - you could put a 89-91 tranny in if you fitted a spacer in the pilot hole. 98/97 TJ, 4.0L, Atlas II 4.3 4.56 & ARBs, RE LA 4.5 Lift,BFG 35 6 pt cage, 5 pt belts, Beard seats, 2 compressors, 2M -6M radio, Winch, BP Bumpers,Sliders,K&N,RS 9000, RE track bars F/R, 24 Gal Tank, D30F/D44R, Steel 15x8 and an F-250 recovery vehicle... |
