Title was taken from alosix signature...

This past weekend we transformmed one of these into a workign trailer. We cut the spindles off of it, put new spindles (5x5.5) on it... mounted larger tires, installed a Aluminum Jeep Box in the front of it, and a Honda Generator in the middle right over the axle and outfitted it with all the goodies to make it a useable trail generator for work weekends and such.

It was a lot of fun, and a cool little trailer to boot...

What spindles did you use? I've been looking at swapping a 4 on 5.5 set on just so I can find a spare wheel/tire.

Mine's getting a tent top this summer, some marine batteries, and a propane tank. Hopefully I can get to it.

I was going to ask the same question. How did you gain the space for wider taller wheels and tires? Any pictures?

Or, better yet.. Think the owner of the trailer would ship a wheel/tire combo out here for some $$

Thanks,
Jason

He owns a number of them so I can asked about the shipping.

I'll see if I can get some pictures in the next couple of weeks. We left the original axle and simply cut the outer spindle off, cut a Model 20 (I believe but I'm not positive because someone else brought the spindles we ended up using) spindle off behind the backing plate holes and then bolted the two together.

I beleive they were off a Dana 30. Greg brought them and Matt welded them on if I remember right. Nice setup. The trailer is in a garage, but owner is out of town for a couple weeks. Left yesterday. If you guys want, Im there everyday and can get the details. Snap some pics too if needed. Just let me know.

I could really make use of a spare wheel/tire if they still have the ones it came with lying around.

Thanks,
Jason

Hey Shawn, is the trailer originally from Future Logistics in Kelowna, BC??

I know your in CO now - did you have it shipped down or what? I'd like to get a hold of one and modify it as you described, but have no idea how much it would cost to ship to the Dallas area via LTL carrier.

Anyone know anything about LTL carriers, and loads this small??
