howdy

read about that in hot rod mag a few months ago. looks pretty sweet. they said that the 5.7 couldnt be bored and that they where gonna redo it or something but the demand was to high or something... anyway from what ive read this hemi can be bored and stroked whereas the 5.7 cant.

later

Adversity does not build character "it reveals it"

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature,
nor do the children of men as a whole experience it.
Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright
exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

I agree with the needed extra grunt, especially in the 3/4 ton's. They absolutely suck on the power issue. Thats why the Cummins is a no brainer in the 3/4. If they do bring this to their trucks I doubt (justa hunch) that they will put it in the 1/2 ton. No matter they just need to bring it. The main reason for so many selling IMO is that was a battle won by marketing. Granted that the 5.7L is a good motor but nothing IMO to be labeled a relative of the HEMI heritage. Now this new 6.1 maybe something different.

This whole power thing latly has been kinda funny! For those ablr to remember back to the 80's, 70's and beyond, The Chevy 350 was the power plant found in most 1 ton dualies the same situation for Ford and Dodge. The diesels not only were way down on power suffered a bad rep from reliability issuses and the dreaded a "diesel will not start in cold weather." Now with every one getting spoiled with the diesel power anything else is just not worthy. Now people have 500+hp and 500+ftlbs torque in their daily driven diesel trucks when not more than 20 years ago 200 hp and 200 ft-lbs was a strech! But the trucks themselves had heavier suspensions. A hemi was a car engine and not put into a truck for a reason Smile

I agree but only because its such a high rev motor. It cant reach its peak torque early in the rpms as do the diesels, and other torque motors like the 360. But nonetheless its still got a descent amount of torque on hand, but only useable if you dont mind the high revs

They need to mate it to a 6 speed, put it in there "charger", none of that stability control.

Make it a charger, like the mustang
