Forest Service Green has been suggested many times. My problem with it is people automaticly assume a forest service truck when they see that green. Then they immediatly assume that the forest service is cleaning up after four wheelers and not four wheelers taking responsibility themselves.

I would go as far as to say most people would not even read the side of the truck once they see the green. They just assume a forest service truck and move on.

How about hot pink? Big Grin Everyone will remember the truck and know what its been doing. Of course if you're a bad boy and do some damage, they'll all remember that part, too. Common colors or stock colors won't make it stand out.

Someone above mentioned burnt orange..yuck! I've got a story....

A good friend was involved in an industrial accident and lost his left arm. He got a generous settlement, but losing the arm requried him to move to automatic trannys. He sold off his stick vehicles and finally found a great condition J20. It did need some body work due to collision damage, and then a paint job. Not a problem, he had friends...

So when it finally got to the point where it was ready for the paint, he went to the paint shop with his friends. He said he wanted one the same color as another guy. I don't even remember the brand, but it was a factory color. The guy at the parts house looked it up and it was listed as "burnt orange". Pretty simple. So he mixed up a batch and showed them what it looked like.

Remember, color preferences are individualized. He looked at it and said it looked good to him. The other guys just deferred because they weren't going to be the guys driving it. So the took the color home and let it fly at the truck. It'd be hard to find a problem with the paint job. They guys used a paint bay, had good conditions and primer.

But the day he took it home his wife tore into his friends. Her comments were "how could you guys do that to poor Rick?" They were baffled. So she pointed out that he's color blind. They didn't know. The color looked good to Rick - just a shade of gray he liked! Smile

Regardless, if you don't like the color, use the story and blame someone else.
